Study: Waymo Driverless Cars Safer Than Human Drivers

An IIHS analysis of 50 million driverless miles (80 million km) found Waymo vehicles crashed 68% less often than human drivers, including 85% fewer single-vehicle crashes and 81% fewer injury crashes. The true gap may be larger, since humans leave up to half of property-damage crashes unreported.

A Rare Color Set the Price on This $4.6M Carrera GT

The Fayence Yellow 2005 example brought $4,575,500 on Bring a Trailer despite 9,250 miles (14,883 km) on the odometer — more than $1 million over Hagerty's top valuation. Only 44 of the 644 North American cars wore yellow, and values are up 200% since early 2022.

Miscellaneous

Tesla’s car door defect could lead to tougher rules for everyone

NHTSA declined to open a defect investigation into the electronic door handles linked to more than a dozen deaths, instead proposing rules that would mandate obvious emergency egress systems in every new vehicle. With rulemaking taking two to five years, changes likely won't land until 2030 or later.

The wagon pairs a 340-hp (254 kW) five-valve 4.2-liter V-8 with a six-speed manual and quattro all-wheel drive — a combination Audi no longer builds — and the auction ends July 29.
