Today in Cars (“Today in Cars,” “we,” “us”) publishes a free daily email newsletter about the car world. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and newsletter, how we use it, and the choices you have. We’ve kept it short and plain.

What we collect

• Your email address, when you subscribe.
• Engagement data about how you interact with our emails — such as whether an email was opened, which links were clicked, and general device and approximate-location signals — along with basic, aggregate website analytics. This is standard email and web measurement, collected through the providers below.

We don’t ask for sensitive personal information, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

How we use it

We use your information to send you the newsletter, to understand what readers find useful so we can make it better, to respond when you contact us, and to keep the service secure and comply with the law. That’s it.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your email address. We share information only with the service providers that help us operate the newsletter on our behalf — including Beehiiv (our email platform, which manages our subscriber list and sends our emails — see beehiiv.com/privacy) and Cloudflare (website hosting) — and only as needed to run the service. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies, analytics, and links out

Our website uses few or no cookies and no cross-site advertising trackers. Our emails and the pages our email platform hosts use standard measurement (such as open and click tracking) as described above. We link out to other publishers’ articles (sometimes with a tag noting the link came from us), and article preview images may load directly from those publishers. Once you leave our site or email, the privacy practices of those other sites are their own — we encourage you to read them.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every email, which removes you from our list.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or California’s CCPA. If you have a privacy question or request, contact us at the address below.

How long we keep it

We keep your email and engagement data for as long as you’re subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward, then delete or anonymize it.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll change the effective date above and post the new version here.
